Then I hate to tell you what I did next, my friend Sandy and I are always laughing about this, but she will be so so proud to know that I took a NAP!!! LOL Anyone that knows me knows I do no take naps every, I must have been tired because I fell asleep 3 times at the hair place. LOL

Then we went to Sugar Creek for dinner. YUMMO!! The wind had really picked up while we were eating. Mitch took the kids to the beach. Here are a few photos Mark took for me.

Mark and I are going to Suffolk to get his braces off today, isn't that exciting? I remember how excited i was. I told him the paparazzi( that what he calls me) will definitely be coming today!

Happy Monday!

Day One

It was so000oooo hot today, I wanted to cry, some of the girls did. The girls did not play well at all the first game (10 am), I don't think they knew what to expect and they sure didn't except the girls from Southern Chesapeake to be so good. The second game at 2 They did fantastic and were really on the ball with fielding. They lost to Windsor. The team plays again today, but we are on vacation and are going to have to miss the games (Sam had a really hard time with the Heat yesterday, actually I think all of us did. Mom, Jack, Kalo, Buck and Marissa all came out for the second game. Sorry guys about the heat, but I know Sam appreciates you making an effort to come out to support her. Hey we have games at SYAA next week!! See you all there???????? LOL

*Arrival time was around 7, Mark drove all the way, he did pretty good. For those you you who know, we took the back roads and he did not like people passing him. Not any traffic so we made it down in no time. Beds made and everything put away by 7:30 we grabbed dinner and were back home by 9:30 the kids jumped in the hot tub and I was ready for bed. What a very long day we had.

Free Time!

Guess what I did next?
Then I watched more of my favorite show

VBS

Our Bible School starts this week, we have never had it at night. I am not helping this year, so I get to be home alone for 3 hours every night, which would be great except we are leaving for the Beach on Saturday so I will be getting ready for that. Maybe I can sneak some scrapbooking in, I got a bunch of new stuff and really want to play with it. Mitch is out of town 3 days! Bummer!

Sam's Birthday Highlights

We had so much fun yesterday the girls were really great , after we swam, rode the golf cart, swam, ate, we went to the movie (field of dreams) they show it at the ball field-It's really great for the community to come together. The girls didn't really care for the movie so we left early (10pm) and they all promptly went to sleep. It was a long day, but I think a good time was had by all!!

Thongs and Cheap Gas!

I am busy today with Sam's Birthday Party, so I have selected a headline that caught my eye (PUN INTENDED) yesterday and an interesting web site. I hope that you all are having a fantastic weekend as I am stuck here with 6 screaming kids for a pool party and sleep over! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Victoria's Secret Sued Over Thong Incident
AOL
Posted: 2008-06-18 17:11:56
A 52-year-old California woman is suing lingerie giant Victoria's Secret, claiming that a "design flaw" on a pair of V-string panties caused her to suffer an eye injury. According to court documents, Macrida Patterson says that a decorative metallic object flew off of a thong she was trying, causing permanent cornea damage, after striking her in the eye. It's the latest lawsuit involving the lingerie maker this year. Get the Full Story From the New York Daily News.
This is hilarious, are you kidding me, I sure hope they don't make Macrida reenact that scene! LOL!!
I found this really cool website for finding cheap gas, thought I would share: Cheapest Gas
If I live through the sleep over I'll post picture on Sunday!

Blog Hopper

Sometimes when I'm checking out peoples blogs that I know and reading and leaving comments, I click on other people who have commented.

#1 because I am nosey and want to make sure I am not the only one with a semi boring blog.

#2 I find people very interesting, I mean come on people blog hopping is modern day people watching in the airport or at the mall, only you get to know lots more stuff about em. Rarely do I leave a comment, but I do pick up lots of good and interesting info.

Here is the interesting place I found today TEECYCLE.ORG, this guy even gives some of the proceeds to this place riverrevitalizationfoundation.org/

How cool is that. I wish I still had my FOXY t-shirt from the 70's I use to wear, stop laughing, you know you had one too!!!!!
Happy Monday!

Through the Years

With Sam only going into the 3rd grade next year, I am not very far behind on her school layouts, typically I scrap them in there regular albums, but I found this great kit to use, so all of Sam's school pics will be in one place, the only thing I don't care for are that the years are basically all the same style with a color change. Haven't really had time to get a good look at it, that maybe a good thing. I will have to wait and see. I believe my friend Shelley also got this kit, so I am anxious to see what she thinks.
Happy Scrappin!

Look out OLF he's after ya! LOL

Thursday is coming......

I wish I was one of those people who wrote eloquently(which I could not even spell without spell check) and humorous, but I am not and it makes it hard to translate a regular day and make it sound interesting. So her it is... I have been at the same job for 23 years now, for the most part it is a very good job, but some days I would like to point them in the direction is which to take there job. Today was one of those days. My boss is very persnickety and insists that everything be approved by him and then in the next breath complains that he has to do everything. OMG
So today was round two of our discussion (argument) about a particular subject, both of us think we are right, when he know good and well I AM-So I told him to do it himself that I wasn't doing it and he was right and I was wrong. (this tends to make him madder) he knows he can't argue with me, because I am as stubborn as they come.

This is a 3 day week for me as I am off on Thursday and Friday. Thursday is the last day of school for the kids and Friday I just don't want to work.

I tried to get some scrapbooking done yesterday, but kept getting interrupted by the kids and after that I just loose my enthusiasm. I ordered a bunch of stuff online so hopefully when it gets here it will stimulate my creativity and I can share my scrapping abilities once more. LOL
Mark printed off the recipe for the bread they serve at outback, (one of my distractions) so he made that for dinner Sunday night and boy was it good. This is a picture of before it was cooked.

*Added: Here it is ( we didn't add the food coloring):

Outback Steakhouse Bushman Bread Recipe #25456
by Mille® ™
3½ hours 3 hours prep SERVES 8 , 8 teeny weeny loaves
Dough
1 1/2
cups warm water

2
tablespoons butter, softened

1/2
cup honey

2
cups bread flour

1 2/3
cups wheat flour

1
tablespoon cocoa

1
tablespoon granulated sugar

2
teaspoons instant coffee

1
teaspoon salt

2 1/4
teaspoons yeast

Coloring
1/4
cup water

75
drops red food coloring

45
drops blue food coloring

30
drops yellow food coloring

cornmeal, for dusting

Combine the flours, cocoa, sugar, coffee and salt in large bowl.
Make a depression or"well" in the middle of the dry mixture.
Pour the warm water into this"well," then add the butter, honey and yeast.
Combine the food coloring drops with ¼ cup of water and add that to the"well.
"Slowly mix the ingredients with a spoon, drawing the dry ingredients into the wet.
When you can handle the dough, begin to combine it by hand, kneading the dough thoroughly for at least ten minutes, until it is very smooth and has a consistent color.
Set the dough into a covered bowl in a warm place for an hour, to allow it to rise.
When the dough has risen to about double in size, punch it down and divide it into 8 even portions.
Form the portions into tubular shaped loaves about 8" long and 2" wide.
Sprinkle the entire surface of the loaves with cornmeal and place them on a cookie sheet, or two.
Cover the cookie sheet (s) with plastic wrap and let the dough rise once more for another hour in a warm location.
Preheat the oven to 350° degrees F.
Uncover the dough and bake it for 20-24 minutes in the hot oven.
Loaves should begin to darken slightly on top when done.
Serve warm with a sharp bread knife and butter on the side.
If you want whipped butter, like you get at the restaurant, just use an electric mixer on high speed to whip some butter until it's fluffy.

Friends

My friend Jan is such a sweetheart, awhile back a bunch of us decided to do digi pages on what TLC meant to us. Alot of them still had digi book links left over, except me of course. So my Friend Jan was nice enough to use one of her downloads and Friday in the mail I got This!! I can't believe she took the time to have a book printed for me and send it to me. Actually I can believe it because she is that NICE of a person. So here is her page and her is the front of the book, sent with a sweet note. Our very own Rachael Stiverson designed the cover. It ROCKS!!

We have a Garden!

Well, sorta, I decided that I did not want to pay a dollar a piece for tomato's, so I decided we would try a couple of small pot versions. I really didn't want to weed and all that mess, so the smaller version is what I opted for. I already have a small tomato coming in or out or whatever it's called.
We also planted zucchini and cucumbers
Hey, KG How's your garden growing?

Upper Case Living

This one is above my dining room on a very small piece of wall..Good Food * Good Friends

I went to an Upper Case Living party hosted by a friend Amanda and given by my friend Sandy, I got a chance last night to put up a few things. It only took me about 10 minutes to put up all three of these. And I love them all.
I still have two more, one in my laundry room that one I am really excited about it's big and I have been wanting to put something on that wall ever since we moved in. (over 5 years ago) LOL! Then I have another one I think I am going to put on a board and hang in the garage.

This is the front door.....The other below is the kids bathroom, it was really hard to photograph, it says Wash, Brush, Floss & Flush....

I got Naked!

Hey, I thought that would grab your attention!!! LOL. I finally found some of the juice that Judi was raving about last week. I found it in 7-11 and boy was it expensive $3.19 for this small bottle. It claimed on the bottle to be a smoothie and have 1 pound of fruit, which is conveniently listed on the side. Although I am not Full of Energy, I must say that drink was very satisfying and I would definitely try it again!

Live dangerously and get ya self some Naked!

You might Thank me for it!

16 Days until summer

But still it is terribly hot, The temp. never went under 75 degrees all night. Today it is suppose to over 103 with the heat index. Good Grief!

Most of the summer this is what we get in our yard during hot spells, they make there way from the swamp to the pond, but not without the dogs worrying them to death. Little do the dogs know but this snapping turtle could take one of there legs off with one bite. They still insist on barking and barking and barking at them. Poor turtle he is just trying to cool off. He is actually very small compared to most of them. I took this with my cell phone and didn't have time to put something in it to gauge his size. His head is probably at least 6 inches around. Well, that is all the excitement I have for you today boys and girls!
Happy Thursday!
