Thursday is coming......

I wish I was one of those people who wrote eloquently(which I could not even spell without spell check) and humorous, but I am not and it makes it hard to translate a regular day and make it sound interesting. So her it is... I have been at the same job for 23 years now, for the most part it is a very good job, but some days I would like to point them in the direction is which to take there job. Today was one of those days. My boss is very persnickety and insists that everything be approved by him and then in the next breath complains that he has to do everything. OMG
So today was round two of our discussion (argument) about a particular subject, both of us think we are right, when he know good and well I AM-So I told him to do it himself that I wasn't doing it and he was right and I was wrong. (this tends to make him madder) he knows he can't argue with me, because I am as stubborn as they come.

This is a 3 day week for me as I am off on Thursday and Friday. Thursday is the last day of school for the kids and Friday I just don't want to work.

I tried to get some scrapbooking done yesterday, but kept getting interrupted by the kids and after that I just loose my enthusiasm. I ordered a bunch of stuff online so hopefully when it gets here it will stimulate my creativity and I can share my scrapping abilities once more. LOL
Mark printed off the recipe for the bread they serve at outback, (one of my distractions) so he made that for dinner Sunday night and boy was it good. This is a picture of before it was cooked.

*Added: Here it is ( we didn't add the food coloring):

Outback Steakhouse Bushman Bread Recipe #25456
by Mille® ™
3½ hours 3 hours prep SERVES 8 , 8 teeny weeny loaves
Dough
1 1/2
cups warm water

2
tablespoons butter, softened

1/2
cup honey

2
cups bread flour

1 2/3
cups wheat flour

1
tablespoon cocoa

1
tablespoon granulated sugar

2
teaspoons instant coffee

1
teaspoon salt

2 1/4
teaspoons yeast

Coloring
1/4
cup water

75
drops red food coloring

45
drops blue food coloring

30
drops yellow food coloring

cornmeal, for dusting

Combine the flours, cocoa, sugar, coffee and salt in large bowl.
Make a depression or"well" in the middle of the dry mixture.
Pour the warm water into this"well," then add the butter, honey and yeast.
Combine the food coloring drops with ¼ cup of water and add that to the"well.
"Slowly mix the ingredients with a spoon, drawing the dry ingredients into the wet.
When you can handle the dough, begin to combine it by hand, kneading the dough thoroughly for at least ten minutes, until it is very smooth and has a consistent color.
Set the dough into a covered bowl in a warm place for an hour, to allow it to rise.
When the dough has risen to about double in size, punch it down and divide it into 8 even portions.
Form the portions into tubular shaped loaves about 8" long and 2" wide.
Sprinkle the entire surface of the loaves with cornmeal and place them on a cookie sheet, or two.
Cover the cookie sheet (s) with plastic wrap and let the dough rise once more for another hour in a warm location.
Preheat the oven to 350° degrees F.
Uncover the dough and bake it for 20-24 minutes in the hot oven.
Loaves should begin to darken slightly on top when done.
Serve warm with a sharp bread knife and butter on the side.
If you want whipped butter, like you get at the restaurant, just use an electric mixer on high speed to whip some butter until it's fluffy.

Wow ... even though you and your boss do not agree, it's nice you can voice your opinion without being fearful of the outcome. That's a good thing.

I'll have to try that bread, we love it too.

And ... I'm still on the fence about Suffolk this weekend ... wish I could make up my mind. Even if we do not see you this weekend, I still want to get together when Mike is there in Newport News later this summer.

nothing wrong with your writing eloquence---anybody that throws words like "persnickety" around, can write in anybody's league.
