Here is what is wrong with my foot

Heel Spurs

Definition:
The heel bone is the largest bone in the foot and absorbs the most amount of shock and pressure. A heel spur develops as an abnormal growth of the heel bone. Calcium deposits form when the plantar fascia pulls away from the heel area, causing a bony protrusion, or heel spur to develop. The plantar fascia is a broad band of fibrous tissue located along the bottom surface of the foot that runs from the heel to the forefoot. Heel spurs can cause extreme pain in the rearfoot, especially while standing or walking.

I have had (3) cortizone injections in the right heal, the last one did nothing to improve the pain so i have a doctors appt on Sept. 9th to discuss surgery.

That's NO fun! I hope you will get straightened out soon! Have a great weekend AND stay off that foot!

this sounds like another "Big Foot" story in the making?? (HEY, just kidding, good luck with the doc and the surgery.)

I feel your pain. I had a heel spur problem for almost a year a couple of years ago. I started wearing better shoes. I even wear my rainbow flip flops when I am cooking and know I will be on my feet a lot. It has really helped. I am very picky about my shoes now, they have to have a good cushion. Once in a while, it will hurt, but nothing like before.

Good luck with it and hopefully something will work to ease your pain.

Owwwwwwwwwwwwwww! That sounds just dreadful!!! And I can't even imagine THREE cortisone injections... Doctor mentioned that once for my shoulder and I just shriveled at the thought! Hope they get you fixed up and back on your feet - pain free of course!

Ouch! that sounds painful! have you tried some Dr. Scholl's Gel insoles to pad your heel until you get the problem resolved?
