I have probably been smoking, less my 2 pregnancies since I was about 14 years old, I really think I am ready to quit. Shell recommended I try Chantix, I am checking that one out and some other very good advice. Trying to decide when my stop date will be. Just wanted to share, I need support without nagging! I will keep you posted on my progress!

You can do anything you want to do...that is what I believe. You will know when you are ready.
Thanks Marlene!
Ok...so this is one of those things that this Blogger Blast is all about...I had no idea you even smoked. Why would I(?), but I just had no idea. Not that it matters that I didn't know...lol. I think smoking for some is like food for me. I can see why it would be so hard to quit. I wish you luck with it though.
You've done the 1st step which means so much...making up your mind that you want to quit and asking for support! I'm behind you 100% as all your blogger buddies will be!!! I know it will be hard but you can do it girl! You have the drive! I wish you all the luck to help you quit! Proud of ya girlie!
I know you can do it!! Maybe we can do it together?
Would you really do it with me?
That would be so cool!
Good luck Wendy! I know it's hard, but you can do it!
Wendy, I was in the same boat. I had been smoking since 12. I quit once in high school, then cut down to 3 a day with my first son, started again 2 weeks after he was born. I quit again when I got pregnant with my daughter. Well, that was it. It's been almost 11 years. The easiest thing I found was keeping cigarettes in my purse and anywhere I normally smoked, then when tempted I would say "I can wait another 10 minutes", well 10 minutes turned to an hour and I did the same thing again. Good luck girl, it's not easy, but you sound motivated!!! I'll be thinking of you and wishing you well. If you want one more piece of encouragement: My mom has lung cancer after years of smoking. It's not fun to watch her go through that. She's made alot of sacrifices and is on permanent disability. NOT FUN! You CAN do it. You know what CAN'T means: I certainly am not trying, CAN means: I certainly am now...so you CAN!!!!
Wow!! That is lots of support. Maybe Carol will quit with you?
Good Luck! I am sure that you can do this if you want to quit. I have not made it to that step yet.
I wish I had some advice for you! I've never been a smoker but it's been hard as heck to give up food and Coca-Cola's! I know you can do it! My boss used to smoke and quit YEARS ago, so you can do it! If it's one thing I've learned through blogging, is that we have a great support system. I hate the nagging too, but with me sometimes it was necessary! Good luck and keep us posted! Can't wait til Friday! I think I keep telling everyone that! LOL
You can do it!! Keep us posted so we can encourage you!
I know that you can do it...and like dieting with all this support I know that you can kick this habbit. I wished I could get my husband to quit. Let me know what works for you and maybe I can get him to try. Good Luck and can't wait until Friday to meet everyone in person.
for what its worth, figure out how much money you spend on cigarrettes each week, and then figure out how much a month, and then ask yourself, if I'm not spending it on cigs, what CAN I spend it on-------in short reward yourself for stayhing off cigarettes, with the money you would have otherwise burned up in smoke.
no nagging from me girl; you know I have been there and done that.
I know I smoked way more than you - so I know if I could do it - you can... you go girl
nothing but support from me!!
*big big hugs*
I wish you all the luck in the world.....my husband quit 3 years ago when he had his last heart attack.....I've seen how it's not been easy for him so my heart aches for you!
Good Luck and remember only YOU will know when it's the right time for you!
Well, it's all been said and done so you know a lot of people are behind you. Like someone said before, you've made up your mind and that's a huge first step. Go for it Wendy!! You can do it!!
