If you could change one thing about scrapbooking (and/or our industry in general) that would allow more people to embrace and enjoy this amazing hobby, what would it be?
I copied this from Stacy Julian's blog, I thought it was a very interesting question and the answers really made me think. So I thought it would be interesting to see what all my scrapbooking & Blogger friends thought.
I agree with alot of the comments about it getting a little out of control. I think we need to get back to basics, basic doesn't have to be boring. I don't think it should take 2 hours to do a page. I think pictures and words should make up the layout. It's hard not to get caught up in all the embellishments and foo foo.
I am defiantly keeping all this in mind the next time I scrap. That's one of the reasons I love digi scrapping, because it looks like you spent a hours on a layout, but in fact you did it in a half the time as paper.

I have to agree with you here. I'm enjoying the digital side of scrapbooking as well as still paper scrapping but I'm trying to keep it simple... I might not always succeed but I'm trying!

I agree it needs to be more about the pictures and WORDS than the page. Also the cost make it hard for some people even to get started. That is also one of things I like about TLC. You get everything you need in one kit and now with the Digital system it is alot less expensive. I have to figure out how I want to print my pages and I am going Digital.

Yes...digital is the resolution to many of the challenges that face would-be scrappers...time, money, space. I love digi!!

I don't have a problem with all the products, choices, and attention to aesthetics rather than storytelling on a page...we all have the craft for different reasons. Sometimes, I just need a really great page...feels good. I probably didn't preserve any memories with it...but it still feels good. KWIM?
