The impossible tree

Thought I would post a picture of my one and only squash the aphids are eating away I have got to get something for it.

AND DUNTANA DAH!!

Here it is mom!!!Can you believe it!! I should have put something next to it so you could see the size. You actually notice it when you are driving up to the house, it gives a pop of color on that side. I never thought that tree would live, mom and i planted it about 5 years ago on the side of my house, it was just a stick. The ground on that side of the house is as hard as a brick and is RED clay so you can imagine. Well, I have never watered it. It's a miracle it grew at all. Look at the ground, we have lived here for 6 years and we can't get grass to grow to save our lives. I think it is because there are a lot of rocks that were left in the soil while it was being built. I don't know, I just know it is a miracle that this Crape Myrtle is growing at all. Oh did I tell you I hate Crape Myrtle trees and the only reason I bought it was because I use to have a nursery down the street and they were going out of business and not being able to pass up on a sale, I thought I would put it on that side of the house, where I would not see it. But you know what, I think I like it.

Happy Monday!!

Oh Wendy...you don't like Crape Myrtles, I LOVE them, we have one that we put in the ground a few years ago and it's starting to bloom now, I just may have to post to show you.

I love Crape Myrtles too ... this one is gorgeous!!

We actually have four of them in our yard. Two of them we had to transplant when we started our addition and they are all thriving. We are a little more north than you guys are, so ours are just beginning to bloom. When they are covered with blooms I'll add a picture of them to my blog.
