Happy Halloween!

An October Night

By Charles Audette

The wind whispers
A wary warning
There was plenty, still
Early this morning

These primal urges
Are hard to fight
An unholy diet
A dark appetite

The pavement scrapes
With scuttling leaves
I'll pull the drapes
and hope to deceive

The moon suffocates
In ominous clouds
Shut off the lights
Heartbeats too loud

Then the neighbor's gate creaks
But it's not the wind
That seeks to feast
On fearing humans

Red brake lights
A car crawls by slow
The shadowy shapes
On my dark doorstep know

That the empty window
Of my house lies.
The horrible truth
Hides deep inside

Everything tonight
Could have been just dandy
But now the demons have wrath -
Cause I ate all the candy!

Happy Halloween!

Fall Ball

So for the past 7 weekends we have been at the ball field.  Either Smithfield, Windsor or Holland.  Next weekend is our last game.   Last night we played the Windsor Pink Ponies another undefeated team.  Samantha even got to pitch an inning.  I get butterflies when she pitches, she did a great job.  Struck out two batters and pitched a no run inning.  YEAH SAM!  So if we win they get a trophy with a one on it!  That is an inside joke.  We cal it a lesism (the coach) Coach Les and Coach Murphy have done a Fantastic job working on skills with the girls and it shows......  I love watching the girls play hanging out with other ball moms.  We have a Great time cheering on the girls and fussing at the Umps.  lol

Finally a New Post

This is kinda a catch-up post.  I have been so so busy with all kinds of crazy stuff.  Sports, family and home I know I know, just like everyone else.  I am just glad the weather has been so fantastic.

Practicing at sluggers
Mitch practicing his swing, I think he needs a larger helmet!

We had our first game last night

  • Samantha is playing fall ball and her Holland team is undefeated right now, with 3 more games to go!
  • She is also cheering for the Southampton Indians.
  • Mark is busy with his senior year and working at Subway, we had his senior pictures taken at

I am very excited about getting the proofs back, Laura did such a great job as always.

  • Jackie is getting better and stronger every day and we are hopefully his recovery will continue to improve.

  • Mom is just about worn out and I worry about her terrible.  I feel helpless because there is really nothing I can do to improve her situation with Jack.  She gets a little time to herself now and then, I hope it is enough.

  • We are all getting ready for the holidays they will be here before we know it.

Also milestone birthdays are coming up Mark will be 18 in November, it's enough to make a mom feel old!

Well that is all for now, hope to update again soon.

HAPPY TUESDAY!

PS... I almost forgot our pond overflowed for the first time in 9 yrs last week when we had those terrible rainy days.  All is well now and the fish are much happier.

Benefits of Problems

I don't go to this church, but a friend of mine does and I subscribe to her pastors blog feeds and so often Kirk has posted something I need to hear.  This one is spot on.

Benefit #1: Problems Purify Your Faith.  Job said, “He has tested me through the refining fire and I have come out as pure gold.”  Chances are God is using the problem in your life to burn out some impure character issues you’ve been holding onto.  Christians are like tea bags.  You don’t what you’ve got inside of you until you are dipped into some hot water.  You are like steel; when you are tested you come out a lot stronger.
